Aurora University baseball senior catcher Jett Wedekind was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Wedekind led AU  to a 6-0 week as the Spartans clinched the 2023 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference regular-season crown. He played in five of the six games, hitting .450 (9-of-20) with five home runs and two doubles to slug 1.300 while driving in 10 runs, scoring 10 runs with a .542 on-base percentage. He also drew three walks and was hit by a pitch.

On the season he has helped the 6th ranked Spartans to a 35-3 overall record while hitting .318 with nine doubles, seven home runs, 36 runs scored, 32 runs batted in with a .591 slugging and .483 on-base percentage. He has drawn 28 walks while being plunked with nine pitches.. 

Next scheduled action for the Spartan baseball team comes on Thursday, May 11 when they are scheduled to travel to the 2023 NACC Tournament as the No. 1 seed. First pitch of the NACC tournament game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Mequon, Wisconsin at Concordia University Wisconsin. The Spartans opponent is to be determined.
