The Aurora University women's volleyball team defeated Illinois Institute of Technology 3-1 (25-14, 25-23, 23-25, 25-18) in a mid-week Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game.

- The Spartans got out in front early and scored five straight points to end the first set with a 25-14 win.
- Celeste Cozzoni led the AU attack with four kills.
- AU forced the Scarlett Hawks to a .000 hitting percentage in the first set.
- Hannah Evenson collected eight digs in the first frame.
- The second set saw more of a back-and-forth affair, with AU hanging on for 25-23 win. 
- Leading the attack for the Spartans was Kate Poellmann with seven kills in the frame. 
- AU called timeout with a 24-23 lead, before a kill from Poellmann finished off the set.
- Hannah Joseph paced the AU offense with 13 assists in the second set.
- The third set also saw plenty of lead changes, with the Scarlett Knights edging out AU 25-24.
- The Spartans collected five kills in the set compared to the Scarlett Knights one.
- AU regained control of the match in the fourth set and led by as many as seven.
- Poellman gained another 6 kills, giving her 19 for the match.
- Lulu Torres picked up a total of 12 kills in the match.
- The Spartans won the final set 25-18 to give them a 3-1 match victory.

Next action for the Spartan women's volleyball team comes on Friday, September 22 when they travel to University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for a tournament. AU takes on University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 5:00 p.m. and Simpson College at 7:00 p.m. in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
