The Aurora University Spartans men's wrestling team dominated the mat on Thursday night in Thornton Gymnasium against Carthage College in a CCIW match-up. The Spartans prevailed 34-9 with winning eight of the 10 matches.

- AU jumped ahead quickly with Zane Ely collecting a fall 2:23 into his match-up at 125.
- Tyler Evitts followed at 133 with an 18-1 tech fall and AU led 11-0.
- Jake Penzato collected a major decision at 141 to push the AU advantage to 15-0.
- Austin Abitua won a 4-2 decision at 149 and give AU the 18-0 lead
- Carthage would score their nine points in the next two matches and AU led the dual 18-9.
- Christian Komitas got the Spartans rolling again at 174, winning by tech fall to expand the Spartans lead to 23-9.
- At 184, Alton Mullinax collected a 4-2 decision to seal the dual victory as his three points put the Spartans ahead 26-9.
- Angel Jaimes won at 197 by a tech fall and heading into the final match at 285, AU led 31-9.
- Cam'Ron Harper (285) sent the Spartans home happy when he won by a 5-2 decision.
- The points from Harper gave AU the 34-9 win.

Next scheduled action for the Spartan men's wrestling team comes on Saturday, January 13 when they are scheduled to travel to Augustana College for a dual. First match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. in Rock Island, Illinois.
