The Aurora University Men's cross country team competed at the NACC Cross Country Championships hosted by Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Spartans scored 87 points to place third, close behind second place Wisconsin Lutheran's 77 point total. Milwaukee School of Engineering won the race with 21 points.
Cris Valencia was the top Spartan finisher, finishing 17th with a time of 26:45.0.
Armando Acosta followed soon after in 20th place, racing to a time of 26:59.8.
Aurora's third finisher was Sam Brown, completing the 8K course in 27:16.1.
Liam Evans and Jacob Bohnert ran shoulder-to-shoulder the entire race, finishing fourth and fifth for the Spartans in 27:37.4 and 27:40.4, respectively.
Rounding out the top seven for the Spartans were Freshman Naif Al Harby, who finished in 28:08.2, and Chase Pruett, with a time of 28:46.3.
The next race for the Spartan Cross Country team comes on Saturday, November 16th as they run at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional hosted by Augustana College. The meet is at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois.
