Colon Maldonado finishes 22nd to earn All-American honors at Division III Championship

The NCAA Division III Championship cross country meet took place on Saturday, November 23 at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.
AU senior Deedee Colon Maldonado placed 22nd with a time of 21:32.6, earning her All-American honors.
She got out early with the main chase pack and came through with the fastest 3k time in her career (10:10.1). With one kilometer to go Colon Maldonado made her move improving seven spots in the race to 22nd place, using the high energy to secure her All-American finish.
With the highest finish in school history, she is the first Aurora woman to be a two-time All-American in cross country as she repeats her honor previously earned in 2023.
"To become a back-to-back All-American is a tremendous feat for Deedee and something AU cross country had yet to accomplish," said Head Coach Alex Lowe. "She is one of the toughest and grittiest racers in the country and that was on display once again today. Being along for the ride the last four years has been a pleasure and a joy to watch."

This concludes the 2024 cross country season for AU and Colon-Maldonado.
