Bohnert's 3000m Leads Way For Spartans At Titan First Chance

The Aurora University Track and Field team competed at the IWU Titan First Chance at Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday in an unscored meet. 

Jacob Bohnert won the 3000m in a time of 8:53.98. He finished 45 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. This time is good for second in Aurora history. 

The Spartans had a pair of runners enter the school record book in the 300m dash. Raymond Petzold ran 38.15 which is now eighth in AU history. Freshman Ayden McGill finished close behind in 38.46 which is tenth all-time.

Nick Tannhauser placed fourth in shot put with a mark of 13.53m. He then placed eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.47m.  

James Marompon finished in seventh place in the pole vault in his Spartan debut, clearing 3.55m.

Up next, the Spartans will compete at the Bumble Rumble at Saint Ambrose University on January 18, 2025.
