The Aurora University Track and Field team competed at the IWU Titan First Chance at Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday in an unscored meet.
Lauren Bliefernicht picked up where she left off last track season with a strong showing in the 60m dash. She placed fourth in the meet in a time of 7.88. That is the second fastest time she has run. She also was runner-up in the 200m dash in a time of 25.90.
Ari Mack ran the seventh fastest time in Aurora history in the 300m dash with a time of 44.37. She then doubled back with an indoor personal record in the 200 of 27.38.
Marissa Janecek moved up to eighth in school history in the weight throw with a new personal record of 13.33m. That mark placed her 7th in the meet.
Aurora had two women tie for second place in the high jump with a clearance of 1.55m:
Alayna Koehler and
Keyara Bailey. For Bailey, this is an indoor personal record which ties her for 10th in AU history.
Also qualifying for finals was Mariette Sogholun in the 60mh. She ran 10.36 in the preliminary round and 10.89 in the finals.
Paige Chapin placed 6th in the shot put with an indoor PR of 10.75m.
