Spartan men place fifth at Windy City Rumble

The Aurora University men's track and field team competed at the Windy City Rumble meet hosted by the University of Chicago on Saturday. February 10th. The Spartans placed 5th out of 13 teams with a score of 33.5 points. 
Cris Valencia had a strong showing in both of his races, running two personal record times. He opened the day with the 5k, running a time of 15:47.22 and placing 7th. This time is sixth in school history. He followed this with an impressive 3k, running 9:07.91 and placing 4th. This time is eighth school history. 
Quintarius Davis ran a PR of 7.04 in the preliminary round of the 60 meter dash. This time ties him for fourth in school history, and is currently third in the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference. He ran 7.06 in finals, placing eighth. 
Ethan Taylor ran a PR of 7.06 in the 60 meter dash finals, placing 6th. This time ties for seventh in school history, and is currently tied for fourth in the NACC. 
Steven Tinsley won the Shot Put with a mark of 15.73. He won by 18 centimeters.

Up next, the Spartans compete at the Slick Invite hosted by North Central College. Competition begins Friday, February 16th.
