Spartans Can't Hang On At MSOE

The Aurora University men's basketball team fell in another close road NACC match-up, this time against Milwaukee School of Engineering by a score of 70-65. The Spartans were tied with the Raiders going into the final two minutes of the contest, but were unable to finish off the hosts on Saturday afternoon.

How it happened
- The Raiders started the game on a 9-2 run.
- AU answered that with a 9-2 scoring run of their own. Mekhi Doby caught fire with six points during the run.
- With 8:30 to go in the first half, AU took their first lead of the game thanks to a Noah Butler three-pointer.
- A jumper from Michael Osborne as time was winding down put the Spartans within five of the Raiders. AU saw a 37-32 deficit going into the locker room.
- AU saw nine second chance points in the first half to just two for the hosts.
- The Spartans got back within one at the halfway point of the second half after Joevonn McCottry finished at the rim on a fast break.
- Dwayne Jervier Jr. tied the score at 65 all with 1:38 left on the clock.
- The Raiders finished the game on a 5-0 run to defeat AU 70-65.
- Osbrone led a balanced scoring attack for the Spartans with 13 and also came up with two steals defensively.
- AU did almost shoot 50% from the field in the second half, but it wasn't enough to knock off the Raiders.
