Spartans Suffer Road Defeat To Titans

The Aurora University men's lacrosse team took to the road for a non-conference match-up against CCIW opponent Illinois Wesleyan University. The Spartans fell on Saturday afternoon to the Titans, 24-15.

How it happened
- AU cut the Titan lead to one after a Ben Strub unassisted goal with three minutes to go in the first quarter.
- The Spartans trailed 6-5 through the first 15 minutes of action.
- Chris Bucci halted a 3-0 run for the Titans with his second goal of the game about halfway through the second quarter.
- The unassisted tally from Bucci cut the Spartan deficit to 10-7.
- The Titans scored six straight goals as AU trailed 16-7 going into the locker room.
- The hosts went on another 6-0 scoring run to start the third quarter.
- AU then went on 6-0 scoring barrage of their own going into the fourth quarter, propelled by a pair of goals each from Rielan Pura and Brody Macdonald.
- After a Titan goal with 3:50 to go, Tyler Foerstel and Ben Strub kept the Spartans fighting with another two goals.
- This would not be enough in the 24-15 loss for AU.
