Spartans down Calvin at home

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon against Calvin University, easing past the Knights 18-6 at Spartan Athletic Park. Brianna Peck followed up her four goal performance last Wednesday night with another four goals, while five other Spartans picked up multiple goals performances in the victory, including four from Danielle Cobbett

How it happened
- Kenly Axvig made her way around a couple of Calvin defenders and found the back of the net just over two minutes in, giving AU the 1-0 lead.
- AU tied the score at 2 after at the 9:13 mark in the first after two Calvin goals, as Grace Pelletier found Brianna Peck for her first goal of the day.
- About three minutes later, the Spartans secured a woman-up goal after the Knights penalty. Caley Russell converted the power play goal with Pelletier on the assisting end again.
- Just 11 second later, AU won the face off and Danielle Cobbett quickly found Sydney Mann to give the Spartans the early 4-2 lead.
- Cobbett scored her first goal of the game with 3:55 to go in the first, making it 5-2 AU.
- The Spartans added one more before the end of the first quarter when Axvig fired another one into the back of the net.
- After a Calvin goal in the beginning of the second quarter, Pelletier quickly answered with two goals. Russell set-up Pelletier on her first tally.
- With four minutes to go in the first half, Calvin scored to make it 8-4.
- Cobbett and Peck each picked up another goal before halftime. Peck's free position goal gave AU the 10-4 lead going into the locker room.
- The Spartans picked up right where they left off in the first when Peck secured her hat trick. She was assisted by Russell that made it 11-4.
- Russell dished out another assist on a Cobbett goal with 13;45 on the clock. The Spartans increased their lead to 12-4.
- Russell got in on the scoring fun less than a minute later and stretched the AU lead to 13-4. Pelletier assisted Russell on the goal.
- Mann gave the Spartans a double digit lead with dish from Cobbett, before Russell scored again with AU on the power play. This moved the score to 15-4.
- After a couple of Calvin goals, Russell found Peck for her fourth goal of the game right before the third quarter buzzer.
- Cobbett increased the lead to 17-6 as Pelletier secured her fifth assist of the game.
- With 4:20 left in the game, Pelletier dished out another goal to Axvig. 
- Axvig's goal gave her a hat trick and AU the 18-6 victory.
