The Aurora University softball team hit the field for day three of The Spring Games. Despite weather delays, the Spartans came out victorious, securing shutout victories in both games against Bethany Lutheran College (8-0) and New England College (6-0).

Game One vs. Bethany Lutheran CollegeÂ
- The game stayed scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when the Spartans took the lead, tallying five runs on five hits.
- AU started the inning with consecutive singles by
Aubrey Ortiz and
Faith Biggs.
Alex Thiel then reached base on a fielder's choice, driving in Ortiz. Later in the inning,
Faith Biggs crossed the plate on an RBI single by
Kionna King.
- With two outs,
Casey Brennan smashed a double down the left field line, bringing home King and Thiel. Heading into the fourth inning, AU led 5-0.
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Spartans added three runs, triggering the run-rule. The inning began with
Casey Brennan and
Jordan Seyfried drawing consecutive walks. -Â Freshman

Game Two vs. New England College
- The Spartans took the lead in the top of the third inning. With two outs,
Tyler Chambers drove in
Faith Biggs with an RBI single to left center.
- AU extended their lead in the fifth inning, scoring three runs on four hits, all with two outs.
Aubrey Ortiz kicked off the rally with a single to left field.
Faith Biggs reached base on a walk, followed by a single from
Tyler Chambers.
- With the bases loaded,
Alex Thiel reached on a New England error, allowing Ortiz to score. The big bat came from
Kionna King, who tripled to left field, bringing home Thiel and Chambers.
- In the top of the sixth, AU added another run when
Jordan Seyfried doubled down the left field line, and pinch runner Isabell Morales scored on an RBI single from
Shelby Linn.

Madelyn Buske secured her third win of the trip, allowing three hits on 24 batters faced with four strikeouts on the mound.
