The Aurora University men's track and field team competed at the Wheaton Invitational on Saturday, April 13th. The Spartans placed eighth out of 12 teams with a score of 34.5 points.
Steven Tinsley threw a 2.42 meter personal best in hammer throw, placing seventh with a mark of 46.90 meters. This performance is seventh in school history. Tinsley also placed second in both shot put and discus, throwing season best marks of 15.28 meters and 45.04 meters, respectively. He is currently ranked first in the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference in Discus, and second in both Shot Put and Hammer.
Freshman Quintarius Davis placed seventh in the 100 meter dash, breaking the 11-second barrier for the first time with a PB of 10.90. This time is sixth in school history, and currently ranks third in the NACC.
