The Aurora University women's track and field team competed at the Drake Relays from Wednesday, April 24th to Saturday, April 27th.
The Spartan 4x800 relay set a new Aurora University school record. The squad of
Deedee Colon Maldonado,
Savannah Vasquez, N'Dya Fields, and
Madison Etheridge placed 10th in the College competition with a time of 9:29.49, shattering the previous school record by 24 seconds. Maldonado ran the 5000 meter run on the same day, placing 23rd with a time of 17:07.86.
The team of
Ari Mack,
Lauren Bliefernicht,
Mika Fields, and Etheridge placed 13th in the College Sprint Medley relay with a time of 4:14.31.
The Spartans placed 11th in the college section of the Distance Medley Relay. The team of Vasquez, Bliefernicht,
Emma Jasutis, and N'Dya Fields ran a time of 12:50.35.
The Spartan 4x100 comprised of Mack, Bliefernicht, Grace Bielfuss, and
Mary Dietz placed 24th in the college section with a time of 49.92.
Skylar Gibbs placed eleventh in the Heptathlon with a score of 4239. She jumped an outdoor PR of 1.49 meters in high jump, and threw a PR of 26.81 in javelin. She currently leads the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference.
