Deedee Colon Maldonado and Lauren Bliefernicht will represent the Aurora University women's track and field program at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The 2024 Championships will run Thursday, May 23 through Saturday May 25 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Colon Maldonado qualified in two events, the 1,500 meter and 5,000 meter while Bliefernicht will compete in the 100 meter.
Colon Maldonado was named USTFCCCA All-Region for the 2024 outdoor track and field season in the 1,500 meter run. All-Region accolades are awarded to the athletes in each of the ten Division III regions with the top five performances for every individual event during the regular season. The performance that earned her that ranking was a time of 4:26.24 at the University iof St. Francis (Ill.) Last Chance Twilight meet on May 10. She will also race in the 5000 meter at this weekend's NCAA Championships. The first round of the 1,500 meter will be on Thursday, May 23 at 4:35 pm (est) / 3:35 pm (cst) with the 5,000 meter event coming on Saturday, May 25 at 6:00 p.m. (est) / 5:00 p.m. (cst).
Bliefernicht will compete in the first round of the 100 meter event on Friday, May 24 at 4:30 p.m. (est) / 3:30 p.m. (cst). Her qualifying time in the 100 came on May 3 at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship.
For each individual event contested, including the decathlon and heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
