MGOLF Carthage champs 2024

Spartans come from behind on day two to win Firebird Classic

The Aurora University men's golf team used a three-under 285 on the second day of the Carthage College Firebird Classic to win their second consecutive tournament, shooting a two-round 580 (295/285) to win by 18 strokes. Five Spartan individuals finished in the top 10 including the top four finishers led by freshman Caleb Negley who fired a two-round score of four-under 140 (70/70).

Top Performers
- Caleb Negley won individual medalist honors with with a two-round score of four-under 140 (70/70).
- Maddux Tarasievich (individual) finished second with a two-round score of even par 144 (71/73).
- Jackson Hulsey finished tied for third with a two-round score of 146 (74/72).
- Mattias Morris finished tied for third with a two-round score of 146 (74/72).
- Braeden Duncan finished tied for seventh with a two-round score of 148 (77/71).
- Brydon North (individual) finished tied for 15th with a two-round score of one-under 150 (71/79).
- George Proudman (individual) finished tied for 29th with a two-round score of 154 (78/76).
- Christian Wakeford finished tied for 36th with a two-round score of 156 (79/77).
