The Aurora University Women's cross country team continued their 2024 season with another victory, this time at the 20th Annual Spartan Classic meet. The team scored 29 points. They achieved this by finishing 7 runners in the top 16 places of the race.

N'Dya Fields completed the 6k course faster than anyone else, winning in a time of 24:03.2. This was a 32 second course best for her, as she finished 54 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. She joins teammate
Deedee Colon Maldonado as the only Spartans to win the individual title since 2018.

Four other Spartans raced to top ten finishes, led by
Emma Jasutis with a fourth place finish in 25:34.0.
Savannah Vasquez followed close behind, finishing in fifth place with a time of 25:43.7. Freshmen
Mia Luna and
Susana Martinez rounded out the top 10, finishing in ninth and tenth in times of 26:17.6 and 26:29.3, respectively.

Completing the top 7 for the Spartans were Freshman
Mallory Arroyo, with a time of 26:38.9, and Augie Pautsch, who finished in 26:49.7.

The next race for the Spartan Cross Country team comes on Saturday, September 21st as they run at the Gil Dodds Invitational. The meet is at St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Illinois.
