Women's Track and Field Opens 2025 at Bumble Rumble

The Aurora University Women's Track and Field team competed in the Bumble Rumble at St. Ambrose University on Saturday.

The Spartan women in the 600-meter had an impressive day rewriting the school record book. All four Spartans in the race ran personal bests. Mika Fields led the way, with a time of 1:47.33. Her time is good for second in school history. Savannah Vazquez finished next for AU, in 1:51.97. This puts her at sixth in school history. Close behind was Ana Ponce in 1:54.58. She is now eighth in school history in the event. August Pautsch also improved on her 600m personal best by two seconds. 

Emma Jasutis raced to a time of 3:31.38 in the 1,000-meter, which is good for fourth in school history.

Skylar Gibbs had a big day on the track and in the field. She placed fourth in the 60m hurdles in 9.66 seconds, and eighth in the long jump with a mark of 4.74m.

Alayna Koehler and Keyara Bailey finished fourth and fifth in the high jump, respectively. They each had jumps of 1.50m.

Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Aurora Grand Prix on January 25th at the Gately Park Indoor Track and Field Complex in Chicago, Ill.
