The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the Aurora Grand Prix at the Gately Indoor Track and Field in Chicago, Ill.
The Spartans had a strong showing in their sole home meet of the season, placing fifth out of 15 teams with 33.5 points. That was the second highest point total of Division III schools.
Steven Tinsley finished second in both the weight throw and the shot put, with marks of 16.27m and 15.87m, respectively.
Armando Acosta entered the school record book in the Mile, finishing eighth in 4:20.95. This time is good for fourth in school history.
The 5000m saw Sam Brown move to seventh in the AU record book with a time of 15:40.83. That was good for a fifth place finish in the race.
Freshman Ryken Kirby finished third in the long jump with a mark of 6.52m. He is now tenth in school history in the event.
