Spartans Dominate and advance in NACC Tourney

The Aurora University women's volleyball team took on the Scarlet Hawks at home in the first round of the NACC tournament Thursday night. Aurora took control in every set and came away with the 3-0 victory.

How it happened
- AU jumped out to an early lead on Illinois Tech and weathered a mid-set rally to win 25-20.
- Katelyn Ruse had four kills and Peyton Darguzis three in the set win.
- The second set was a back and forth battle between AU and IIT.
- With the set tied 14-14, a Ruse kill ignited the Spartans to a 11-3 run to win 25-17.
- Samantha Torres had seven kills in the set win as AU hit .351 as a team.
- The Spartans stormed out to a sizable lead in the third set and appeared ready to coast to a win before a valiant rally from IIT tied the score at 20-20.
- AU had led 20-11.
- With Carolyn Lippe at the service line, AU won five of the final six set points to win 25-21.
- Senior Riley Moreno had a pair of kills in the final five point stretch.
