Aurora University men's hockey opened up the weekend with a 6-4 win over #2 Adrian College. A multitude of Spartans got in on the scoring action, with six different goal scorers on the night.

- The Spartans would hit first on the back of a Lukas Sedlacek 10th minute goal on the assist from Landry Schmuck and Jacob Brockman.
- 5 minutes later, Hassan Akl would take advantage of the Power-Play and put AU up 2-0 with the assist from Juliano Santalucia.
- And putting Aurora up 3-0 with one minute left in the 1st period was Conor Ronayne on the assist from Jakson Kirk.
- Spartan goalie Matt O'Donnell would have 10 saves after one period.
- The second period had a worrisome start for the Spartans as Adrian would score three times within the first 3 minutes of the period.
- AU would hold on the rest of the period keeping it tied 3-3.
- It would take 10 minutes before the Spartans could get themselves back on top, a Ryder Many Grey Horses goal with an assist from Jaden Davis. AU 4-3.
- With less than three minutes remaining, Adrian pulled the goalie, and after a face off, Landry Schmuck scored unassisted to put the Spartans up 5-3.
- A quick snap back from the Bulldogs brought the AU lead down to one, now 5-4.
- The nail in the coffin was a Jakson Kirk empty net goal with 14 seconds left in the game.
- #3 Aurora would defeat #2 Adrian 6-4 in game one of the weekend.
- Spartan goalie O'Donnell finished the game with 33 saves.
