Aurora University junior wrestler Cam Johnson was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin men's wrestling student-athlete of the week on Tuesday following his effort in the Spartans' conference-opening dual win last Thursday.

Johnson earned the honor after he delivered one of the dual's key results in AU's 24-17 victory over Carthage, earning a 9-8 decision over Zaren Anderson at 157 pounds to help solidify the Spartans' lead. His win came immediately after Jake Penzato's result and pushed AU ahead 15-5 as the Spartans claimed five of the dual's 10 bouts.

AU opened its campaign at 1-0 overall and 1-0 in CCIW competition with the win.

Next action for the Spartan men's wrestling team comes on Sunday, November 23 when they travel to the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Tri-Match beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Edwardsville, Illinois.
