Spartans Fall in Home Opener to Lake Forest

The Aurora University women's hockey team fell 2–0 to Lake Forest College on Thursday night at Fox Valley Ice Arena in the Spartans home opener.

How it happened 
- Lake Forest jumped out to a 2–0 lead in the opening period and held that advantage the rest of the way.
- Despite the early deficit, Aurora responded with a strong defensive effort over the final two frames, limiting quality chances and killing off multiple penalties to stay within striking distance.
- Goaltender Macy Blooming led the Spartans with 31 saves between the pipes, while Emiliana Cassillo and Kennedy Lewis each tallied multiple blocked shots.
- The Spartans generated 19 shots on goal and controlled the faceoff circle, winning 25 of 40 draws, but could not find a way past the Lake Forest goaltender.
