Spartans head to Christmas break with win over Albion

The Aurora University men's basketball team played their final home contest of the 2025 portion of the schedule and before heading out for the Christmas break, defeating Albion College 80-67.

How it happened
- The Spartans exploded out of the gate, leasing 11-0 behind three, three's from Cullen Rauls 3:25 into the contest.
- A Larry Carthan put back just before the under 12 media gave AU the games largest lead of 15 (26-11).
- Albion answered with a 19-5 run over the next eight minutes and AU led by just one (31-30).
- Zerrick Johnson sent the Spartans to half tied at 38.
- Rauls led all scorers with 14 in the first-half.
- Mekhi Doby scored the first six points for the Spartans coming out of halftime as AU jumped out again on the visitors.
- A 12-0 AU run with 10 points including a four-point play from Juan Madrigal gave the Spartans breathing room and tied the games largest lead of 15 with 14 minutes to play.
- AU maintained a lead in double figures for the remainder of the game and would win 80-67.
