Aurora University Athletics in conjunction with BSN Sports proudly announces the recipients of the BSN Spartan Athletes of the Week award. The honors are earned based on the student-athletes performances on their respective playing surface the previous week.

This week's honors go to AU student-athletes, junior Juan Madrigal of men's basketball, junior Cam Johnson of men's wrestling and freshman Macy Blooming of women's hockey.

Macy Blooming, women's hockey - 
Blooming earned the honor after she directed AU to a weekend NCHA sweep of Lawrence, posting a 1-0 shutout in the opener and a 3-2 road win. She stopped all 20 shots sent her way in the shutout win and then came back in game two, stopping 21 of the 23 shots for 41 on the weekend.

Cam Johnson, men's wrestling - 
Johnson earned the honor after he was 2-0 in his matches on the week at Millikin and at University of Chicago. He dominated his opponents, winning 21-2 in a tech fall at Millikin and then 21-6 in a tech fall at Chicago. Johnson is unbeaten thus far on the season for AU at 157 pounds.

Juan Madrigal, men's basketball - 
Madrigal earned the honor after he led AU to a 2-0 week with surmountable wins over Wisconsin Lutheran College (96-81) and Illinois Tech (103-77). Madrigal averaged 23 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 61.5% from the field and 41.7% from three. He also added three steals and 3.5 assists per game on the week which saw him tally 25 in the win over WLC and 21 in the IIT win.
