Top Marks Shine For AU Women's Track At Keck Select

The Aurora University Women's Track and Field team competed in the Keck Select at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill.

Deedee Colon Maldonado added to her numerous school records by setting a new record in the 800-meter in 2:17.10. This is an improvement of nearly 3 seconds over the previous record. Her time scored her a fourth place finish. She also competed in the 400-meter where she placed sixth. Her time of 1:00.63 puts her at ninth in school history in the event.

Skylar Gibbs competed in the pentathlon and finished with 3003 points. She won the pentathlon 800-meter event in 2:34.00. Gibbs was the highest Division III finisher in the overall competition.

Lauren Bliefernicht placed third in the 200-meter in 25.65s. She also competed in the 60-meter, where she ran 7.99s for a 16th place finish.

Keyara Bailey finished eighth in the high jump with a jump of 1.50m.

Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Chicagoland Indoor Championships at North Central College in Naperville, IL on Friday, February 14
