Aurora University women's track and field student-athlete
Deedee Colon Maldonado returned to the track for the second day of the 2024-2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on Saturday. She would compete in both events, the mile run final and the 3,000-meter run.
On Friday, Colon Maldonado began the Championships with the mile run prelims, running a 4:54.36 to qualify fourth for the finals on Saturday. In the mile final, she set a new Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference mark behind a strong race with a time of 4:52.06 to finish sixth. As a sixth place finisher, she earns First-Team All-American honors.
In the final individual event of the Championships on Saturday she returned to the track for the 3,000-meter. She would finish 10th with a time of 9:43.98 which earns her Second-Team All-American honors.
Next action for Colon Maldonado and the AU women's track and field team comes in the outdoor schedule on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 when the outdoor season kicks off at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
