The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the SLU Speed/Power Festival hosted by St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Spartan throwers had a fantastic day in the field. The shot put saw three Spartans finish in the top five. Steven Tinsley won the event with a throw of 15.81m. Nick Tannhauser and Cam'ron Harper then placed third and fourth with marks of 3.71m and 13.63m, respectively. Isaiah Conteh also scored, throwing 12.37m to finish eighth. Steven Tinsley then finished second in the weight throw with a mark of 50.39m. He is now fourth in school history in the event.
Lucas Alvarez won his heat of the 800-meter in a personal best time of 2:06.63.
Sir Emmett-Lee Nelson finished seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 3.50m. Matthew Dean vaulted 3.35m to finish close behind in eighth.
Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Billiken Invitational at St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO on Saturday, March 29.
