The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the Wartburg NCAA Qualifier hosted by Wartburg College in Waverly, IA.
Steven Tinsley had an impressive showing in the field, competing in the shot put and weight throw. He won the shot put with a strong throw of 16.88m. He is now second in school history in the event. He then competed in the weight throw, where his personal best mark of 19.11m placed him third. He is now eighth and 12th place in the nation in the weight throw and the shot put, respectively.
Armando Acosta improved on his own school record in the 800-meter, running 1:55.53 and placing 12th. He took nearly a second off of his previous record with the effort.
MeKhii Morris-Heron placed ninth in the 400-meter with a season best time of 50.58.
Up next, the Spartans will compete in the NCAA Division III Championship at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, NY on Friday, March 14.
