Box Score 2 The Aurora University baseball team celebrated their senior day on Saturday afternoon, as AU honored nine seniors ahead of their doubleheader with the Sabres of Marian University including Joey Pettit, Jon Wray, Spencer Ruch, Nick Czarnecki, Adrian Ruiz, Brayden Gorecki, Logan Riley, Justin Zimmerman and Dominick Curcio. AU fell in game one by a score of 4-1, before coming back and defeating the Sabres 9-3 in game two.

Game One
- Marian broke a scoreless tie in the top-of-the-fourth with a bases clearing double, making it 3-0 in favor of the Sabres.
- AU broke their scoreless drought in the bottom-of-the-seventh, as
Brayden Gorecki went the other way for an RBI double scoring
Kyle Mack and cutting the Marian lead to 3-1.
- The Sabres would get this run back in their half of the eighth.
- This helped Marian finish off the 4-1 victory.
Game Two
- The Sabres took an early 1-0 lead in the top-of-the-first, before stretching that advantage to 3-0 in their half of the third inning.
- AU got those two runs back and some in the bottom-of-the-fourth, as
Kyle Mack smacked a two-run double that scored
Dominick Curcio and
Jaden Holgado.
- The very next batter for the Spartans in the fourth
Nick Czarnecki singled in Mack to make it 3-2 in favor of AU after four innings of play.
- In the top-of-the-sixth, Marian tied the score at three.

Logan Riley re-gave the Spartans the lead in the sixth when he roped a single that scored Mack and made it 4-3.
- Later in the sixth,
Ryan Buck walked to score Czarnecki and give AU a 5-3 lead.
- In the bottom-of-the-seventh,
Dominick Curcio went the other way for an RBI single that scored Holgado.
- Later in the seventh, Riley continued his strong day with another single that scored Curcio and Cznarnecki.
- This gave AU an 8-3 lead after seven innings of play.
- AU stretched that to 9-3 in the eighth when Holgado scored another run on a wild pitch.
- The Spartans would end up winning by that 9-3 score.
