A traditional unlike any other returned this afternoon as the Aurora University men's golf team won the 2024-2025 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship, the eighth consecutive year for AU. The 2024-2025 title came in another strong performance as the Spartans won by 29 strokes with a four-round record score of 1,187. Five AU teammates

Caleb Negley,
Braeden Duncan,
Christian Wakeford and
Mattias Morris battled throughout the tournament, finishing as All-Conference and all in the top eight individual finishers. Hulsey won the individual medalist honors while Negley finished second, four strokes back and earned NACC Freshman of the Year honors..
FINAL SCORE: Aurora University won by 29 strokes with a four-round with a 1,187 (304/289/292/302).

MEET RESULTS

- The Spartans shot an opening round 304 and were tied for the lead with St. Norbert
- The second round saw the Spartans regain their lead after shooting a 289 and lead by 11 strokes.
- The third round had AU fire the best round again with a 292 and increase the lead to 16 strokes entering the final 18.
- AU battled warm and windy conditions in the final round to fire a 302 and continue to distance themselves from the field, winning the day and the tournament by 29 strokes.

Jackson Hulsey won individual medalist honors with a four-round score of 298 (76/72/78/72) which also earned him NACC All-Conference.

Caleb Negley was named NACC Freshman of the Year, earning NACC All-Conference after finishing tied for second after three-rounds with a score of 302 (77/71/75/79).

Braeden Duncan finished tied for fourth lead after three-rounds with a score of 304 (78/73/72/81) and earned NACC All-Conference.

Christian Wakeford finished tied for fourth after three-rounds with a score of 306 (73/79/74/80) and earned NACC All-Conference.

Mattias Morris finished tied for eighth after three-rounds with a score of 306 (83/76/71/76) and earned NACC All-Conference.

Next action for the Spartan men's golf team comes on Tuesday, May 20 through Friday, May 23 at the 2024-2025 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship. The rounds will take place at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, New York
