Spartans Compete At Viking Olympics

The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the Viking Olympics hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, IL.

The Spartans placed fifth out of 11 teams with 74 points. Augustana (Ill.) won the meet with 157 points.

Steven Tinsley had a strong day in the field, competing in three events. In shot put, he won with a throw of 15.44m. He placed second in the discus with a personal best mark of 49.73m. This throw puts him at tenth in the nation in the event. He then scored a fourth place finish in the hammer throw with a 49.90m throw.

Ethan Taylor earned a win in the 100-meter, crossing the line in 11.06s.

Cam'ron Harper placed second in the shot put with a season best throw of 14.29m.

The Spartan 4x100-meter relay ran 43.89s, scoring a runner-up finish in a close race.

MeKhii Morris-Heron finished third in the 800-meter in 2:00.08.

Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Wheaton Classic at Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL on Saturday, April 12.
