The Aurora University Women's Track and Field team competed in the Viking Olympics hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, IL.
The Spartans placed fifth out of 11 teams with 68.5 points. Augustana (Ill.) won the meet with 207 points.
Lauren Bliefernicht competed in the 200-meter and 400-meter races. She finished runner-up in the 200-meter in 25.55s. She then ran 59.92s to place third in the 400-meter. She is now sixth in school history in the event.
Emma Jasutis raced to a third place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Her time of 12:20.48 now puts her at ninth in school history in the event.
Aurora's high jumpers placed strong for the Spartans. Alayna Koehler and Keyara Bailey placed second and third, respectively. They both jumped 1.53m. Grace Beilfuss finished close behind in fifth place with her mark of 1.48m.
Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Wheaton Classic at Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL on Saturday, April 12.
