Schmuck named DIIIHockeyNews.com Rookie of the Year

Aurora University men's hockey freshman forward Landry Schmuck added to his achievements in the 2024-2025 season today when DIIIHockeyNews.com announced their postseason award honorees. Schmuck was named the Division III Rookie of the Year and to the All-Rookie Team.

The latest honor comes after he was previously named a Second-Team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association and he was previously named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Freshman of the Year and All-Conference.

Schmuck earned the honor as a freshman after he finished with a Division III leading 31 goals (10 more than the next highest individual) and finished third in Division III in points with 44 with 13 assists. His goals came with 10 on the power play and eight being game-winning goals.

The 2024-2025 season came to an end for the AU men's hockey team with new standards for wins in a season with a 24-5-1 overall record, while winning the first NCHA Peters Cup title, made the first NCAA Tournament appearance and won the first playoff game in program history.
