The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the Midwest Final Qualifier hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, IL.
The Spartans saw two new school records set in the penultimate competition of the 2025 Outdoor Track and Field season.
Steven Tinsley competed in the shot put and discus. He won the shot put collegiate competition with a strong 17.14m throw. His throw broke the school record and the NACC record, and also currently ranks him tenth in Division III in the event. In the discus, he threw 48.80m.
Armando Acosta raced hard in the 800-meter, finishing in 1:52.50. With this, he broke his previous school record, and also broke the NACC record.
Nick Tannhauser had an impressive showing in the hammer throw. He threw a personal best mark of 51.90m. He is now fourth in school history in the event.
MeKhii Morris-Heron ran the 400-meter, where he crossed the line in a personal best time of 49.37s. His efforts earned him a tenth place finish overall.
Sam Brown finished in fifth place in the 10,000-meter in 32:48.23. That time is now 4th in AU history.Â
Up next, the Spartans will compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in Geneva, Ohio on May 22-24.
