The Aurora University Women's cross country team won their home meet, the Spartan Classic, with a fantastic showing where they placed six runners in the top ten finishers. They earned their top finish with a score of 26 points. Purdue University Northwest took the runner-up spot with 35 points.
N'Dya Fields won the meet for the second straight year with a strong 23:40.2 finish, over 25 seconds ahead of the next finisher.
Aurora's second finisher was Mika Fields, who ran a personal best time of 24:47.8 for a fourth place finish.
Mallory Arroyo raced hard to be the third woman across the line for Aurora in 25:32.0.
Anna Green and Alex Gonzalez were the next Spartans across the line, finishing well in eighth and ninth place in 25:45.4 and 25:49.4, respectively.
Rounding out the scoring for Aurora were Mia Luna and Emma Jasutis in tenth and eleventh place. They finished in 25:57.4 and 26:05.0, respectively.
The next race for the Spartans comes on September 20th as they compete in the Gil Dodds Invitational. The meet is hosted by Wheaton College at St. James Farm in Warrenville, IL.
