AU defeat Lakeland handily in dual

The Aurora University Spartans men's wrestling team returned to the mat in a dual on Tuesday night against Lakeland University. The Spartans won eight matches to handily defeat the Lakeland Muskies 40-12.

How it happened
- Zane Ely got the Spartans started winning the first match of the night by fall, putting the Spartans up an early 6-0.
- Tyler Evitts followed with a fall of his own at 133 and AU led quickly 12-0.
- Alex Gochis won his match at 141 by tech fall (18-3) getting AU out to a 17-6 lead.
- Cameron Johnson would be the next AU winner, also by tech fall (17-1), putting the Spartans up 22-6.
- An exciting dual at 165 followed with AU's Carols Munoz Flores winning a decision (13-11), scoring points late to get the win.
- AU's Jack Seacrist won by injury default at 174 and the Spartans now held a 31-6 advantage.
- Alton Mullinax made a come from behind win in a thrilling match at 184. After trailing early 3-0, he would tie the match 3-3 and with a dominating advantage in riding time, he won by a 4-3 decision.
- Spartan Elijah Osit won by forfeit in the 285 class, sealing the Spartan victory.
- The Spartans would win 40-12.
- Jake Penzato would win his exhibition match at 141 by fall to wrap up the night.
