Aurora University Athletics in conjunction with BSN Sports proudly announces the recipients of the BSN Spartan Athletes of the Week award. The honors are earned based on the student-athletes performances on their respective playing surface the previous week.

This week's honors go to AU student-athletes, senior Hassan Akl of men's hockey, senior Kylie Fischbach of women's basketball and junior Devon Richardson of men's basketball.

Hassan Akl, men's hockey - 
Akl earned the honor after he led Aurora to a weekend sweep of Marian with three goals and an assist. In the 5-4 overtime win in the series opener at Marian he had a pair of goals and then bounced back with a goal and assist in the 6-2 series ending contest at Aurora. Akl recently became the all-time leading scorer at AU and continues to add to his total.

Kylie Fischbach, women's basketball - 
Fischbach earned the honor after she led Aurora to a pair of wins over Concordia Wisconsin and Milwaukee School of Engineering. She averaged 13.5 points while shooting 50% from the field (9-of-18). She was also a perfect four-of-four from the free throw line. Her only three of the week (1-of-5) came at a crucial point in the 53-48 win over MSOE.

Devon Richardson, men's basketball - 
Richardson earned the honor after he led Aurora with a double-double on the week that saw the Spartans win at Concordia Wisconsin (95-84) and home against MSOE (114-74). He had a double-double in both games with 11 points and 11 rebounds with three blocked shots at CUW and then had 23 points and 12 rebounds in the MSOE win. He went 12-of-20 from the field on the week while also going 10-of-13 from the charity stripe.
