AU women tune up At The Aurora Grand Prix

The Aurora University Women's Track and Field team competed in their home meet, the Aurora Grand Prix, at Gately Indoor Track and Field Center on Saturday. The unscored meet drew lots of competition, with 26 schools competing.
 
N'Dya Fields earned a runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter race, finishing in a converted time of 18:42.53. Her time was a personal best, and she is now eighth in school history in the event.
 
Susi Martinez won her heat of the mile in a converted time of 5:27.50. This time earned her a 20th place finish overall in the event.
 
Marisa Janecek placed fifth in the weight throw with a season best mark of 13.37m. She also contested the shot put, where she threw 10.11m for a 17th place finish.
 
Up next, the Spartans will compete at the University of Chicago. The meet will take place on January 31st at 12:00 PM.
