Docktor’s OT Winner Lifts Spartans Past Trine, 3–2

The Aurora University women's hockey team bounced back on Saturday afternoon in thrilling fashion, skating to a 3–2 overtime victory over Trine University behind a late equalizer and an overtime game-winner at Fox Valley Ice Arena.

How it happened 
- A tightly contested first period saw both teams trade chances, but neither side found the back of the net.
- Trine opened the scoring at the 7:01 mark of the second period to take a 1–0 lead.
- AU answered early in the third period, as Cara Cook scored just 72 seconds into the frame to knot the game at 1–1.
- The Spartans carried momentum and grabbed the lead when Samira Schmidt converted on the power play midway through the third period.
- With time winding down, Trine capitalized on a short-handed opportunity in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime.
- The Spartans sealed the win in overtime as Courtney Docktor skated around the back of the net and finished a smooth wraparound goal 3:33 into the extra frame.
- Macy Blooming anchored the Spartans in net, recording 25 saves in the victory.
