Spartans defeat Cardinals in non-conference showdown

The Aurora University men's volleyball team headed back to the road with a cross town trip to North Central College. The Spartans knocked off the Cardinals in four sets, 23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-17.

How it happened
- The first set between the Spartans and Cardinals was a battle with the score tied 13 times and four lead changes.
- AU held the largest lead of three at 11-8 but would fall 25-23.
- Xavier Zukley led AU with four kills in the opening set.
- The second set was much like the first with NCC leading early and the Spartans rallying late for the 25-23 win.
- SJ Nelson led six Spartans with kills, he had five.
- A Connor Carroll kill gave AU a 9-8 lead in the third set and the Spartans would go on to win 25-19.
- Nelson added seven kills in the third set win while Carroll had four.
- The fourth set saw AU down 10-9 when Ammar Brzovic got a kill and ace to take a lead AU would not give back.
- AU would win 25-17 and clinch the match 3-1.
- Nelson and Brzovic each had five kills in the final set.
