Three Spartan women qualify for NCAA National Championship field

The Aurora University Spartans women's wrestling team finished third in the 2025-2026 NCAA Region IV Tournament hosted at Tiffin University. Three individual Spartans qualified for the 2025-2026 NCAA Championships. Individuals with top three finishes qualify for the national tournament.

How it happened
Alexis Janiak won the 131 bracket. She had a 4-0 record in the tournament and with her finish qualifies for the NCAA Championship.
- The championship qualification for Janiak is her fourth straight and she aims to repeat as a National Champion.
- Genesis Ramirez finished third at 103. She had a 3-1 record in the tournament and with her finish qualifies for the NCAA Championship.
- The championship qualification for Ramirez is her third consecutive.
- Sophia Ball finished third at 138. She had a 4-1 record in the tournament and with her finish qualifies for the NCAA Championship.
- The championship qualification for Ball is her first of her career.
- Anneliese Tavira finished fourth at 180, going 3-2 in the tournament.
- Katelyn Bell finished fifth at 110, going 2-2 in the tournament.
- Tasha Markoutsis finished fifth at 124, going 4-2 in the tournament.

Next action for the Spartan women's wrestling team comes on Friday, Match 6 and Saturday March 7 when they travel to NCAA National Championship in Coralville, Iowa.
