The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has announced its 3 Stars of the Week. AU Spartan men's hockey goalie Matt O'Donnell was named one of the three stars of the week.

O'Donnell earned the recognition after he was was stellar in the crease for the Spartans during a high-stakes road split with Trine. The junior goaltender faced 70 shots over the weekend, stopping 66 of them for a .943 save percentage. After a sharp 33-save effort on Friday, O'Donnell reached another level on Saturday afternoon, turning aside all 33 shots he faced to earn the shutout in a 2-0 victory. His performance ensured Aurora maintained its position near the top of the conference standings heading into the final weeks of the season.

Next scheduled action for the Spartan men's hockey team comes on Friday, February 6 when they host Milwaukee School of Engineering. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois.
