The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the Keck DIII Select hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday. The Spartans competed hard in a large field that featured over 25 schools.
 
Armando Acosta won the 800-meter in 1:54.99. He ran strong, running in the middle of the pack for most of the race before closing hard on the final turn to power home for the victory.
 
Jahrel Rimpel placed eighth in the 200-meter in a season best time of 23.00s.
 
Freshman Julian Velazquez threw a personal best mark of 10.81m in the shot put.
 
Up next, the Spartans will compete at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships hosted by North Central College. The meet will take place on February 14th at 10:30 AM.
