The Aurora University Women's Track and Field team competed in the Keck DIII Select hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday. The Spartans competed hard in a large field that featured over 25 schools.

The Spartan Throwers had a great day in the field. They placed two women in the top seven of the 37 person shot put field.
Marisa Janecek placed fifth with a mark of 10.91m, while
Paige Chapin finished close behind in seventh with a throw of 10.56m. In the Invitational Weight Throw, Janecek placed fourth with a personal best throw of 14.52m. She is now fifth in school history in the event. Then, in the weight throw,
Paola Vargas placed eighth with a personal best mark of 11.96m. Chapin also contested the weight throw, throwing 10.20m to place 18th.

Up next, the Spartans will compete at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships hosted by North Central College. The meet will take place on February 13th at 3:00 PM.
