Bloomingburg named Finalist for AHCA Coach of the Year

Aurora University men's hockey Head Coach Jason Bloomingburg has been named a finalist for the 2025-26 CCM/AHCA College Division Men's Coach of the Year Award, the American Hockey Coaches Association announced.

Bloomingburg is among 13 finalists for the Edward Jeremiah Award, presented annually to the top NCAA Division II-III men's ice hockey coach. The winner will be announced later this week in Utica, New York.

Finalists are selected based on conference Coach of the Year honors and postseason success, including participation in the NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Championship.

Bloomingburg earned national recognition after guiding the Spartans to a standout 2025-26 campaign that included Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Coach of the Year honors and a trip to the NCAA Frozen Four. His leadership has continued to elevate the Spartans into a nationally competitive program, highlighted by sustained success in conference play and increasing national visibility.

AU is currently 25-5-1 overall with the 25 wins setting a new mark for single season wins in the program history. The Spartans will take on Hamilton College in the Frozen Four with puck drop slated for 2:00 p.m. (cst) / 3:00 p.m. (est) on Friday, March 27 in Utica, New York.

The CCM/AHCA Coach of the Year awards are voted on by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association and recognize excellence in coaching performance, team success, and contributions to the sport.
