Salinas wins Javelin as Spartans have strong showing at Wheaton Invite

The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the Wheaton Invite hosted by Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL on Tuesday.
 
Anthony Salinas won the Javelin throw with a strong toss of 39.85m. McKinley Shelton finished fourth in the event, throwing 36.48m.
 
Aurora's 4x400-Meter Relay team of MeKhii Morris-Heron, Ayden McGill, Henry Beyer, and Joshua Beechler earned a runner-up finish in 3:31.85.
 
The Spartan 4x100-Meter Relay team of Ethan Taylor, Caleb Burgins, Jaxson Foster, and Jahrel Rimpel finished third in the meet with a season best time of 43.34s.
 
Sir Emmett Lee-Nelson placed eighth in the Pole Vault with a mark of 3.80m. Matthew Dean also cleared 3.80m for ninth in the event.
 
Ethan Taylor finished 11th in the 100-Meter in 11.21s. He was followed closely by Freshman Jaxson Foster in 11.23s, good for 13th place.
 
Freshman Caleb Burgins raced to a 15th place finish in the 200-Meter in 22.73s. Foster again finished close behind in 16th with a personal best time of 22.78s.
 
Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships hosted by Elmhurst University in Elmhurst, Ill. The meet will take place from Thursday, April 9 through Saturday, April 11.
