Bailey wins high jump with multiple Spartans having top finishes at Wheaton Invite

The Aurora University Women's Track and Field team competed in the Wheaton Invite hosted by Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL on Tuesday.
 
Keyara Bailey tied for the victory in the Long Jump, jumping a season best 4.92m.
 
Susi Martinez earned a runner-up finish in the 1,500-Meter with a personal best time of 5:01.08.
 
In the throws, Marisa Janecek threw for second place in the Discus with a mark of 35.02m. She then finished third in the Hammer throw with a strong toss of 39.05m. Paola Vargas finished ninth in the same event with a 33.45m throw. Janecek finished her day with a seventh place finish in the Shot Put, throwing 8.78m.
 
Trinity Stewart ran a strong 400-Meter to finish seventh in the event with a time of 1:05.04.
 
Finishing seventh and eighth in the 5,000-Meter were Emma Jasutis and Savannah Vasquez in 20:07.81 and 20:16.37, respectively.
 
Victoria Tarpeh placed 11th in the 100-Meter in a season best time of 12.94s. She also contested the 200-Meter, where she ran 28.56s.
 
Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships hosted by Elmhurst University in Elmhurst, Ill. The meet will take place from Thursday, April 9 through Saturday, April 11.
