The Aurora University baseball team started off their spring break trip to Arizona with a massive 15-2 over the Hamline University Pipers. AU had two big innings in the second and fifth to lift them over the Pipers.

- The Spartans looked happily upon the second inning in today's game, at they tallied seven runs in the inning.
- Spartan Zack Tarrant broke open this one with a three RBI double in the bottom-of-the-second.
- Those three runs, scored by Joe Lukancic, Jaden Holgado, and Isaac Goddard, would be enough to secure the victory, but no one told the Spartans this.
- Later in the inning, Ryan Buck smacked a two RBI single to score Tarrant and Tyler Patton. AU now lead 5-0.
- Continuing the monster second inning was Matthew Washington who hit in Mack with a RBI single.
- And Isaac Goddard then singled in Buck to put AU on top 7-0 after two innings.
- Hamline scored one of their two runs in the top of the third.
- A two-run fourth inning came when Patton scored on a wild pitch, and Washington doubled in Buck to take the AU lead to 9-1.
- Another huge inning for the Spartans came in the fifth, starting out with a Lukancic triple, scoring Diego Lugo, the first run of his career.
- Patton later singled to score Lukancic.
- Then Mack doubled to bring in Tarrant who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning.
- AU's lead was now 12-1.
- Buck reached on an error by the Piper left-fielder, allowing Patton to score and Mack to advance to third base.
- Washington singled to score Mack, and then Goddard sacrifice flew out to right scoring Buck.
- That would be the last of the Spartan onslaught of scoring, bring their lead to now 15-1.
- Hamline would score their second and final run of the night in the top of the sixth.
- AU took down Hamline 15-2 to open their spring trip.
