The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the Cougar Invite hosted by Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, IL this weekend. The Spartans finished fifth out of 13 teams with 66 points. Concordia University Chicago won the meet with 128 points.

Aurora's distance squad took home two event wins on the day.
Armando Acosta claimed victory in the 800-Meter in a meet record time of 1:55.32. He won the event by five seconds.
Joshua Thoms won the 3,000-Meter in 9:53.36. This time was nearly 40 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Matthew Dean finished runner-up in the Pole Vault, clearing 3.80m.

Anthony Salinas placed third in the Javelin throw with a strong mark of 44.54m.

The Spartan 4x100-Meter relay team of
Jaxson Foster,
Ethan Taylor,
James Marompon, and
Jahrel Rimpel finished fourth in 43.19s.

Jahrel Rimpel ran hard in the 200-Meter to place fifth in 22.40s.

Freshman
Jaxson Foster earned a fifth place finish in the 100-Meter in 11.05s.

Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran in Milwaukee, WI. The meet will take place on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2.
